About GoRead.pk
GoRead.pk is a socially conscious, nationwide movement dedicated to promoting literacy and a love for reading among children in underprivileged communities across Pakistan. We bring about social change through joyful story read-aloud sessions, focusing on Tarbia (character development), Ehsaas (compassion), and Adab (literature).
Our stories are available in Urdu, English, and Pakistan’s regional languages, ensuring accessibility and cultural connection for every child. Research shows that story read-aloud sessions help develop language skills, enhance personal growth, and positively shape children’s futures – one story at a time.
A Scalable Model for Nationwide Impact
GoRead.pk is designed as a scalable model to reach children across Pakistan. Our upcomingmobile app will connect volunteers with the organization, share resources and guidelines, provide impact measurement tools, and foster efficient communication.
Living by our ethos پرہو اور پڑھاؤ (Parho aur Parhao) – Read and Teach – we also inspire our volunteers to read for pleasure. Through the app, we share newsworthy, culturally relevant, and enriching reading materials, helping build a more knowledgeable and informed society.
Access to Books and Independent Reading
To help children develop a lifelong love for reading, GoRead.pk complements storytelling with access to books. Our mobile library system allows children to borrow a book each week from our collection, giving them the opportunity to explore joyful, developmentally appropriate stories on their own.
Creating Safe Spaces for Expression
After every story session, interactive discussions give children a safe space to express their thoughts and ideas – an opportunity rarely found in Pakistan’s current educational environment. These discussions strengthen confidence, communication, and critical thinking
